§ 129. Mr. Buchananasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made in implementing the recommendations of the Buchanan Report, particularly as it affects Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
§ Mr. RossA land use/transport survey for the Glasgow conurbation, of the kind 107W recommended in the Buchanan Report, is now under way and should be completed in 1967. The survey covers in detail an area of about 450 square miles with a population of about 1¾ million. Its results are likely to be of appreciable use over an even wider area. It will provide the basis of comprehensive plans for dealing with traffic movement and land use in west central Scotland on the principles recommended by Professor Buchanan.
