§ Mr. Randallasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance how many persons were in receipt of unemployment benefit and of National Assistance at Gateshead at the latest convenient date and at the corresponding dates for 1962 and 1963.
§ Mr. PentlandThe County Borough of Gateshead is served by two offices of the National Assistance Board which between them also serve a considerable area extending beyond it including the Urban Districts of Felling and Washington. The numbers of recipients of unemployment benefit with supplementary assistance grants authorised by these offices were as follows:
