HC Deb 09 March 1965 vol 708 cc56-7W
86. Mr. Dance

asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the discrepancies in telephone accounts submitted by the London West Telephone Area, he will issue a warning to the public to scrutinise their accounts carefully before payment.

Mr. Joseph Slater

No. With hundreds of millions of items to bring to account it is unfortunately impossible to avoid occasional mistakes in telephone bills, but the number of such errors is small and there is no case for issuing a warning to subscribers in the London West or any other Telephone Area. I should like to take this opportunity of expressing my regret for the mistake which was made in the hon. Member's own telephone bill which was sent to him in February.
