§ Commander Courtneyasked the Postmaster-General if he will amend his special stamp programme for this year, and consider the issue of a special postage stamp in May, in commemoration of the bicentenary of the launching of H.M.S. Victory at Chatham Dockyard on 7th May, 1765.
§ Mr. BennNo. I received over 90 suggestions for commemorative stamps this year including one for this particular event, and a great deal of time was spent considering them. Inevitably many worthy subjects had to be omitted and am sorry it was not possible to meet this request.
