HC Deb 09 March 1965 vol 708 c38W
41. Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take steps to provide compensation for those exporters whose overseas customers, before the announcement of the amount of the export rebate, have deducted from payments a percentage greater than the amount of the appropriate export rebate.

Mr. MacDerrnot

No.

Mr. Jackson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will alter Note 6 of Notice 436 issued by the Customs and Excise whereby the indent houses rather than the manufacturers get the export rebate.

Mr. MacDermot

No. The Note reflects the provisions of the law, under which indent houses and other export houses are eligible to claim rebate only on export transactions in which they have acted as principals.
