§ 27. Mr. Ogdenasked the President of the Board of Trade what consideration he has given to the petition of behalf of the late Captain Stanley Lord ex-s.s. "Californian", presented by the Mercantile Marine Service Association; what reply he has sent; and if he will make a statement.
35. Dr. Bennettasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in the light of the information contained in the Petition sent to him from the Mercantile Marine Service Association on the subject 274W of the sinking of the "Titanic" and the rôle played by s.s. "Californian" at the time, with the consequent public disgracing of Captain Lord of this ship, he will call for further consideration of all available evidence not hitherto considered on the relative distances and bearings of the two ships, on the identity of the two other ships seen to the northward by Captain Rostron of the "Carpathia" while picking up survivors, and the degree to which blame should attach to Captain Lord.
