HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c300W
97. Mr. Ennals

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what agreements exist between the police in South Africa and the police in the High Commission Territories; whether there is still an arrangement for the exchange of fingerprints; and why four fugitives from South Africa are to be tried in Basutoland for crimes alleged to have been committed in South Africa.

Mr. Greenwood

With regard to the first and second parts of the Question, there are no agreements other than the normal working arrangements which exist between the police forces of different countries for the detection and prevention of crime. With regard to the last part of the Question, I am not aware of any case where four fugitives from South Africa are to be tried in Basutoland for crimes alleged to have been committed in South Africa.
