asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will take steps to introduce a scrap and build plan to assist British shipowners and shipbuilding yards.

asked the President of the Board of Trade what percentage of new shipping registered in British ports during each of the past 10 years was built in British shipyards.

The percentage of new shipping of 500 gross tons and over registered in United Kingdom ports and built in United Kingdom yards during each of the last 10 years was as follows:
