HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c287W
Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to obtain equality of treatment for British vehicle exports under the Canadian anti-dumping procedures.

Mr. Jay

The British Government have requested the Canadian Government to amend their anti-dumping legislation so as to enable British motor vehicles and parts to compete more freely on the Canadian market.

56. Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the President of the Board of Trade what representations he has received from British vehicle exporters regarding Canadian anti-dumping procedures; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Jay

British motor vehicle manufacturers have made many complaints to the Board of Trade in recent years about the operation of the Canadian antidumping legislation. I have asked the Canadian Government to amend it and await their reply.
