HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c300W
98. Mr. Dudley Smith

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs what representations he has received from food producers and retailers over the increase in freight charges imposed by British Rail; and what impact he estimates such increases will have on the cost of living.

Mr. Foley

None. No precise estimate can be made of the effect on food prices, but it is unlikely to be significant.
