HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c276W
37. Mr. Shepherd

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the concern felt by British suppliers at the delay in payments by the Ghanaian Government in respect of contracts placed by them; and whether he will take steps to ensure better treatment of British suppliers.

Mr. Jay

The Board of Trade has received a large number of complaints from British firms about delays in payments by the Ghana Supply Commission. The British High Commission in Accra has been actively pursuing these complaints and have, in many cases, been able to arrange for payments to be made.
