HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c309W
Sir P. Roberts

asked the Minister of Health, in view of the fact that approximately £4 million is to be paid on an individual and specific basis to those doctors whose expenses for ancillary and other help are in excess of the basic allowance already incorporated in their remuneration, whether he will give an assurance that in future, when samples of doctors' recorded expenses are taken for the purpose of assessing the average and hence the total expenses element to be included in the pool funds, the calculation will refer to the gross amount of such expenses and that no deductions will be made thereon in respect of the £4 million.

Mr. K. Robinson

With any scheme of the kind referred to in the Question that might be agreed with the profession for direct contributions towards expenditure on ancillary staff doctors would be advised how to account for such contributions so as to secure that the gross sums expended were credited to the pool.
