HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c299W
95. Mr. James Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what progress he has made regarding a firm date for the constitutional talks about the independence date for Mauritius.

Mr. Greenwood

My hon. Friend is aware from my reply to his Question on the 26th November that it was agreed last February that further constitutional talks should be held at a convenient time after October, 1965. No firm date has yet been fixed but I expect this matter to be among those for discussion during my forthcoming visit to Mauritius.
