HC Deb 03 March 1965 vol 707 c246W
39. Sir G. Wills

asked the Minister of Transport what progress has been made with the planning of a road to link the M.5 at East Brent with the West Country; and if he will make a statement about this and about his plans for the improvement of West Country roads generally.

Mr. Swingler

A survey is now in progress to determine the line of this road and the standard to which it should be designed.

Our plans also include a comprehensive programme of improvements to the A.38 south of Exeter and to the A.30 in Cornwall, together with a number of schemes to help the movement of traffic on roads leading to the M.4 and the M.5.
