§ 25. Mr. Benceasked the Minister of Technology what consideration he has given to means of instigating development work, other than giving contracts to existing manufacturers.
§ Mr. CousinsI regard the placing of development contracts as the main instrument for instigating development work; and in the Development of Inventions Bill, I have put forward proposals which will enable N.R.D.C. to expand its work in this field. Development contracts need not, however, be confined to companies already well established in a particular field.
