I assume that my hon. Friend has in mind the recent fatal accidents in Wakefield Road, Huddersfield, as a result of vehicles colliding with trolley bus and lighting columns near the edge of the carriageway. I understand that these columns were erected some years ago and that where the road is being widened the local authority is replacing the columns further back from the carriageway.
