§ Sir C. Osborneasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much of the portfolio of 1,250 million United States dollar securities which were vested in the Government during the war has recently been put into liquid form so as to be available to reinforce the reserves in case of need; what securities were in the portfolio; what was their cost; what is their present value; if he intends to repurchase them when the sterling crisis is over; and if he will make a statement.
