§ 78. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that for the first time in four years oil in the North Sea has again become a menace and is doing great damage including the killing of many sea birds; and what steps he is taking to deal with this menace.
§ Mr. MasonI am not aware of any recent increase in pollution of the North Sea by oil, but if my hon. and learned Friend has any information which he cares to send to me I shall be glad to look into it. The steps taken to prevent or reduce pollution in the North Sea and elsewhere include agreements with other governments and legislation in this country.
