§ Q11. Mr. John Harveyasked the Prime Minister if he will order an inquiry into the frequent occurrence of strikes arising out of trade disputes affecting the travelling public at the time of bank holidays.
§ The Prime MinisterI deplore the effects of the strike by certain employees of British European Airways at Whitsun. 59W coming as it does after similar occurrences which have inflicted great inconvenience to the public on earlier occasions. I have asked my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour to assemble all the information available over these successive incidents, and in the light of this a decision can be taken whether any further inquiry is necessary.
