§ Mr. BoydenThe Ministry's index of the average price of new houses for private owners increased by just under 11 per cent. in the last quarter of 1964 and just under 3½ per cent. in the first quarter of 1965. This index is based on information provided by the Building Societies Association which includes the cost of land as well as the cost of the house itself. It reflects the average size of the houses on which mortgages are advanced, as well as these costs.
