HC Deb 04 June 1965 vol 713 c303W
Sir C. Osborne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer for how long the recent loan of 52,400 million from the International Monetary Fund will run; what rate of interest has to be paid; what other conditions are attached to the loan; how much has been used already in support of sterling; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Callaghan

The Answer to the first part of the Question is 3–5 years; the rates of interest payable are variable; we have undertaken to hold consultations with the fund from time to time. I have nothing further to add to the last published statement on the reserve figures.
