asked the Minister of Aviation if he will state the number of escalators which have been installed in airport terminal buildings in the United Kingdom in order that passengers may reach the aircraft, and the dates and places, respectively, of such installation.

The required information is as followsLondon (Heathrow) No. 1 Building—3 Installed in 1955; No. 2 Building—1 installed in 1955. London (Gatwick)—1 installed in 1964. Manchester—1 installed in 1962.

The requested information is as follows: London (Heathrow), No. 3 Building—1 installed in 1961; 1 installed in 1962. London (Gatwick)—1 installed in 1958; 1 installed in 1965. The lifts at Gatwick are not for general passenger use but are for the invalid and infirm only.
