§ 53. Mr. Bryant Godman Irvineasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what assistance he has given to local education authorities and school governors about the use of schools by outside persons or bodies.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThis is primarily a matter for the education authority or school governors concerned, but the Department has drawn the attention of local authorities to the possibilities created by the dual use of sports facilities. The Department also gives guidance on the design of schools for use by youth clubs. I should, however, like to take this opportunity of expressing, once again, my encouragement for the dual use of educational buildings.
