51. Mr. Buchanasked the President of the Board of Trade what action he proposes to take to prevent the sale to South Africa, by an American-controlled British firm, of lorries which are capable of conversion to armoured vehicles.
§ Mr. JayNone. These vehicles are not military vehicles and therefore do not fall within the scope of the embargo announced by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 17th November.
§ Mr. Ennalsasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will take steps to prevent the export to South Africa of Vauxhall Bedford four-wheel drive lorries for use by the South African Defence Forces, as this is in conflict with the terms of the United Nations Security Council Resolution of 3rd December, 1963.
§ Mr. JayI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I have just given to my hon. Friend the Member for Renfrew, West (Mr. Buchan).
