Commander Courtneyasked the Secretary of State for Defence what provision is being made during the current year for the combined training of Royal and South African naval units in fulfilment of British commitments under the Simonstown Agreement; and if he is satisfied with the standard of anti-submarine training in the South Atlantic.
§ Mr. MayhewAs I informed the hon. and gallant Member on 22nd March, a submarine is expected to visit South Atlantic waters later this year. The standard of training of H.M. ships is good.
