HC Deb 01 June 1965 vol 713 c206W
Mr. Kershaw

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the lack of toilet facilities on A.38 between Bristol and Gloucester and of the inconvenience and expense to which this is putting adjoining owners of land; and what steps he proposes to take to remedy this.

Mr. Tom Fraser

I am aware that conditions on many trunk roads are unsatisfactory because of lack of toilet facilities along them.

The Government have decided to contribute to a pilot scheme for the provision of public conveniences by public health authorities along certain sections of trunk road. Details of this pilot scheme and the assistance to be given by the Government were announced by my hon. Friend in his reply to the Adjournment Debate on this subject on 29th April.
