§ Mr. Dudley Smithasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many appeals against revaluation assessments are now outstanding; and what 70W recommendations he has for expediting the conclusion of these appeals.
§ Mr. MacCollAt 30th June, 1965, approximately 291,000 appeals were outstanding; the records do not distinguish between appeals arising out of the revaluation and those arising for other reasons. Appeals in the nine months up to and including June were being disposed of at the rate of about 25,000 per month. This I am afraid represents as good progress as we can hope for in view of the limited numbers of qualified staff available.
