§ Mr. Hannanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps have been taken to consider the implications in Scotland of the recommendations of the committee of inquiry into the recruitment, training and promotion of administrative and clerical staff in the hospital service in England and Wales.
§ Mr. RossA working party consisting of regional hospital board, board of management and Scottish Home and Health Department representatives has reported on this matter and copies of the report are available in the Library and the Vote Office. The Working Party's recommendations cover a number of important aspects of the future recruitment, training and promotion of hospital service administrative staff. I have accepted the report and the new Scottish Hospital Administrative Staffs Committee will be constituted as soon as possible. Implementation of these recommendations will mark an important forward step in the creation of a unified hospital service administrative staff.
