HC Deb 26 July 1965 vol 717 c41W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) what plans he has for making water supplies more easily and more cheaply available to rural areas, in view of the comparatively high costs involved in piping supplies to remote places, and particularly in Nottinghamshire;

(2) what plans he has for ensuring better sewerage services in the rural areas, and particularly in Nottinghamshire, where many modern housing areas are still without modern sanitation.

Mr. MacColl

My right hon. Friend proposes to continue financial help under the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Acts. Recent returns show that local authorities and water undertakers in rural areas are proceeding with new projects for extending water supply and sewerage, in Nottinghamshire and elsewhere.
