§ Mr. Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Transport what arrangements were made to consider objections to the 50 m.p.h. speed limits introduced on 300 miles of trunk road on 16th July.
§ Mr. Tom FraserI am under no legal obligation to consider objections but I consulted the local authorities concerned before making the Order. This was done quickly since I considered that, on grounds of road safety, as many as possible of these limits on stretches of road with bad accident records should be brought into operation for the main holiday season.
