HL Deb 21 July 1965 vol 268 c886WA
LORD MANCROFT

asked Her Majesty's Government: Whether they have had fresh thoughts about the use to which the old Westminster Hospital/Stationery Office site in Parliament Square might be put, or whether they intend that this important site should be used as a car park in perpetuity.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES (LORD MITCHISON)

It is still the intention of Her Majesty's Government to build on this site, but plans for doing so are being reviewed in the light of the recently published reports of the consultants on the redevelopment of the Whitehall area.

House adjourned at seven minutes past eleven o'clock.
