§ Mr. Bryant Godman Irvineasked the Minister of Transport (1) in view of the assurances he gave last December that the track from Crowhurst to Bexhill West would be retained for the time being, to what extent the work now in hand has his authority;
(2) if he will now instruct the Railways Board to retain one track between Crowhurst and Bexhill West.
§ Mr. Tom FraserI satisfied myself that there were no grounds for asking the Board to retain the branch line tracks any longer before I gave my approval to their disposal. I also took account of the local authorities' interest in acquiring the land.
