MallalieuFrom the statistics available to me I would assess that there are in any year about 6,550 officers and 15,000 ratings in this category, that is, with a son of between 10 and 11 years of age—a ratio of approximately 1: 2.3. This corresponds very closely to the ratio between the number of sons of R.N. officers and the number of sons of R.N. ratings in the present
