Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to check the distribution from manufacturers' works through medical representatives and other persons of purple hearts, black bombers and similar drugs; what information he has as to how such drugs reach coffee bars, beat clubs and other unauthorised distribution points; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. and learned Friend is watching the effects of the restrictions introduced on 31st October last under the Drugs (Prevention of Misuse) Act, 1964, but it is too soon to judge whether further controls may be necessary. Little information is available about the sources of illicit supply.
