§ Mr. Tom FraserThe first registration of a motor vehicle is not related to its age but to the date when it is first put into use on public roads in this country. This applies equally to imported used cars, for which the date of first registration in the country of origin could not readily be established in every case. There are not many of them and, in the absence of any evidence that they constitute a particular danger, I do not propose to change the law, as would be necessary.
