Mr. George Jegerasked the Minister of Transport, in view of the aims of the International Co-operation Year to stimulate more links between British people and those of other countries, why he will not give a general direction, in the public interest, to the British Railways Board not to withdraw concessionary fares for young foreign visitors to Great Britain.
§ Mr. Tom FraserI explained in the Answer I gave to my hon. Friend on 16th June that such a direction would242W not be appropriate. The existence of the International Co-operation Year does not affect that position.
