§ Mr. Maxwell-Hyslopasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs to what extent he has had or is having negotiations with one or both parties to the London Clearing Banks staff pay claim in parallel to the consideration given to this matter by the National Prices and Incomes Board.
§ Mr. George BrownNegotiations on these and other pay claims are the sole responsibility of the parties concerned. I have however been informed of the current position of the Clearing Banks in the light of the reference of the recent Midland Bank settlement to the National Board for Prices and Incomes.
