Sinclairasked the Minister of Overseas Development what part of the provision available for technical assistance to the Middle East of £553,000 for 1964–65 and for the current financial year of £631,000 has been earmarked for Central Treaty Organisation strategic purposes and how much for strictly economic development.
Mrs. Castle: All the technical assistance which was provided to the Middle East in 1964–65 and is being provided in the current financial year is devoted exclusively to economic development.
