§ 56. Mr. Hobdenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if, in view of the recent statement by the Brighton Sewers Board that a public in quiry should be held to consider the 152W question of sea pollution, he will now hold such an inquiry at an early date.
§ Mr. MacCollMy right hon. Friend does not think a public inquiry would help. The condition of the beach has been extensively investigated already over a long period. The Department officers have recently discussed the matter with representatives of the Board, and as a result he is urging the Board to consider screening and similar treatment of the sewage.
