Mr. Dodds-Parkerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will allow the traffic lights to work in Parliament Square, whether Parliament is in session or not, for an experimental period of three months, and see what complaints are received from Members of delay in access to the Houses of Parliament.
§ Mr. George ThomasBefore any such experiment was undertaken, my right hon. Friend would require evidence of a substantial demand for a change in the present arrangements.
