§ Mr. Longdenasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance how many people were drawing retirement pensions under the National Insurance Acts at the latest convenient date; and how many of these retirement pensioners were also drawing supplementary pensions from the National Assistance Board.
§ Mr. PentlandAt 31st December, 1964, about 6,180,000 people were drawing retirement pensions and about 1,154,000 retirement pensioners were receiving a supplementary grant from the National Assistance Board. Some of these grants provided for the requirements of a household with more than one pensioner.
