§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will explain the United Kingdom's vote on the United Nations Security Council's resolution of 30th December, 1964 on the Congo; and what are the Government's proposals to replace the mercenaries with other military advice and assistance to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
§ Mr. George ThomsonHer Majesty's Government voted for the resolution in question because they believe that, if carried out, it could contribute materially to the solution of the Congo's problems. Her Majesty's Government are not required by the resolution to make proposals for the replacement of the mercenaries.
