§ Mr. MellishThe following Exchequer contributions were paid to local authorities in England and Wales in respect of new permanent housing. The figures do not include Exchequer contributions towards the cost of converting or improving existing houses, contributions in respect of temporary and emergency housing, or capital grants for post war houses built by new tradition methods.
