§ 99. Mr. Martenasked the Minister of Aviation how many independent British airlines there are; and which ones he saw and consulted before his announcement of the change of policy for dealing with independent airlines.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsBefore making my Statement on Civil Aviation Policy, I saw representatives of the British United Airways Group and of the British Eagle Group. The services operated by these two groups account for three-quarters of the operations of British independent airlines. There are 9 other British airlines which operate scheduled services under licences granted by the A.T.L.B. and a further 8 which similarly operate charters.
