(2) in view of the application to his Department by the Kent County Council under Section 11(1) of the Road Traffic Act, 1962, to raise the permitted speed limit to 40 miles per hour, if he is aware that this has caused concern to the parents of children attending the Meopham Primary School at the junction of the A.227 and B.260 roads because of the increased traffic hazards that would result from this change, and that a petition objecting to the proposals has been sent to Kent County Council; and what action he will take.
§ Mr. Tom FraserI have not received an application from the Kent County Council. If after considering any objections to their proposal, the council decides to apply for my consent to the making of an Order raising the speed limit, I will consider its application most carefully and take all objections fully into account before reaching a decision.
