§ 11. Sir A. V. Harveyasked the Prime Minister if he is aware that letters from Ministers to Members of Parliament are frequently signed by private secretaries; and if he will take steps to see that Ministers sign letters themselves whenever possible.
§ The Prime MinisterI agree that what the hon. and gallant Gentleman proposes ought to be the normal rule, though there are occasions when it can be helpful to hon. Members to have a reply signed by a private secretary. As the hon. Member knows, I should be glad to look into any particular cases he may have in mind.
