§ Mr. Gardnerasked the Minister of Transport what steps he is taking to deal with the increase of traffic on the roads affected by the extension of Tilbury Docks.
§ Mr. Tom FraserThe immediate approaches will be improved in the next214W few years by the construction of the Tilbury Docks Approach Road. Access will also be progressively improved by a number of other schemes, including the provision of dual carriageways on A.13 between Canning Town and Dover's Corner, Hornchurch, and improvements of A.128, including a by-pass at Bulphan, A.125 and B.178.
In the longer term, the D-Ring and North Orbital roads will provide good connections to the main routes to East Anglia, the Midlands and the North; the South Orbital road will provide improved access via the Dartford Tunnel.
