HC Deb 16 February 1965 vol 706 cc213-4W
Mr. Gardner

asked the Minister of Transport what steps he is taking to deal with the increase of traffic on the roads affected by the extension of Tilbury Docks.

Mr. Tom Fraser

The immediate approaches will be improved in the next few years by the construction of the Tilbury Docks Approach Road. Access will also be progressively improved by a number of other schemes, including the provision of dual carriageways on A.13 between Canning Town and Dover's Corner, Hornchurch, and improvements of A.128, including a by-pass at Bulphan, A.125 and B.178.

In the longer term, the D-Ring and North Orbital roads will provide good connections to the main routes to East Anglia, the Midlands and the North; the South Orbital road will provide improved access via the Dartford Tunnel.
