Robertsasked the Minister of Power if he will publish a list of the companies which the Government do not intend to nationalise, in view of the Government's policy to exempt those companies whose predominant interests are clearly in engineering and other activities, but which have substantial iron and steel interests also.
§ Mr. Frederick LeeThe Government's policy is to nationalise the main part of the iron and steel industry. Consultations are continuing on the implementation of this policy, including the treatment of the iron and steel interests of companies whose predominant interests are clearly in engineering and other activities. The necessary legislation is being prepared.
