§ Mr. Thorneycroftasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of anxieties felt in Monmouth at the proposed closure of the hospital as a general 169W hospital; whether he will take these anxieties into account, particularly in view of the long distances involved for patients in this part of the world; and whether he will give an undertaking that no final decision will be taken on the closure of this hospital for general purposes in advance of an opportunity being given for local interests to make their feelings felt.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonYes. I have received a number of representations about this matter. I shall need to be assured that full consultation with local interests has taken place before I decide whether to agree to any change in the use of this hospital.
