asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the total private United Kingdom investment in Common Market countries in 1963 and 1964, respectively.

The 1964 figure includes the United Kingdom 40 per cent. share of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group purchase for some £60 million of an interest in Montecatini's petrochemicals business. The figures are net of disinvestment.
